We want Studiora to work for every student, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, screen magnifiers, or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we have done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone. Use Tab to move, Enter or Space to choose, the arrow keys to move between tabs, and Escape to close panels.
- A "Skip to content" link appears when you press Tab at the top of each page.
- Text and buttons meet WCAG AA color contrast.
- Pages use real headings, labels, and landmarks so screen readers can navigate them.
- Decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers. The globe on the home page has a text description.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, animations, the moving globe, and the custom compass cursor are turned off.
- The custom cursor only appears with a mouse. Touch screens and keyboards use the normal system behavior.
- The site works when zoomed to 200 percent and on small phone screens.
Known limits
- Some resources we link to are run by other organizations, and their accessibility is outside our control.
- The connecting lines in the Career Pathways tree are visual only. The same information is available as labeled lists of courses.
